December Mood Board

With this mood board, the first year of my design journey is officially in the books. It's hard to believe a year has passed, but I'm incredibly grateful for the growth this project has brought me personally. I hope it has inspired you as much as it has inspired me each month.

While December is typically associated with the traditional red and green of the holiday season, I’ve never been one to follow the norm. Simply put, red and green aren’t my favorite color combination. Instead, this month, chartreuse takes center stage.

Chartreuse is such a dynamic and vibrant color. Lively enough to nod to the holiday spirit, yet fresh and unexpected. Its bright yellow-green hue combines the energy of spring with the grounding feel of nature, creating a unique foundation for this season. Paired with the rich, buttery texture of velvet, chartreuse brings a sense of depth and warmth, perfect for December’s cozy vibe.

Velvet adds an immediate touch of elegance and comfort. Classic quilted stockings evoke the intimacy of holiday gatherings, while clean, modern lines keep the aesthetic fresh and fashion-forward. These elements come together to create a design that blends tradition with a contemporary twist.

The pear motif adds a timeless layer to the mood board. Pears have long symbolized abundance and warmth, offering a meaningful and subtle connection to the season.

This month’s mood board captures the duality of December: honoring cherished memories of the past while embracing the possibilities of the new year. The combination of chartreuse and velvet brings together both a sense of nostalgic comfort and a hopeful anticipation for what lies ahead.

As we close out the year, I encourage you to embrace the season in a way that feels right for you, whether it’s through color, texture, or tradition. Let this time be about the things that truly bring you joy, no matter how untraditional they may be.

Ciao!
